Can you name your sets?

Ok, I have been collecting coins for a while.

Recently I made the change to collecting certified coins and I have really enjoyed it!

Anyway, I have noticed some certified coins with names on them such as "The Jack White Collection" and others.

My question is, how do you get the "Blah collection" or whatever on your certified coins?

Does it cost money? Do you have to be some high mucky muck?

Thanks in advance for any help!

  • You can go to the PCGS site and read all about "pedigree" ing your coins. Some series are not eligible, but most are. Don't know about cost as I haven't read about it in a while, but I'm sure it's not free.image
  • OK, I went and looked. Go to the PCGS site and click on set registry. On that page is a tab entitled "benefits". If you click on that tab you will get some information on their pedigree program. As I understand, if your set is in the top five, it may qualify for free pedigree service. Instructions are given there.image

they simply name the collection, if good enough PCGS will pedigree, but only upto a certain amount of charectors...alot of my set names were truncated by PCGS.
