Is their goal to washout the toning? I was aiming for a 67RB. I ended up with a 67RD

toning & TVs -- even in the Phil time there was always the debate about how true the TVs were that played up the toning
at least it isn't overexposed to death
good looking 67. they couldn't spare a +?
The coin looks really nice in both sets of images.

That’s a better TV than most I have seen recently.
I think that trueview is pretty good

You may not like the photo of your cent- I get that.
Why though would you think PCGS is nafariously attempting to washout the toning?
That would take effort on their part to represent your coin in a negative fashion.
What would be PCGS end-game in doing so, on purpose?

It’s not the only toned coin that came back with bad images.
The 53-D went 66BN. The coin is darker.
Having the coin submitted again for reholder, regrade (in this case where he’s not happy with the grade or suffix), and redo the trueview. I think the proper terminology is called job security when a person has to submit the same coin multiple times in order for the tpg company to satisfy the customer.
I don't see any particular issue with these photos. The last two 53-D and 57-D have a lot of glare but that accents the blue and purple colors which is probably what you are looking for.

I agree there are issues with Trueviews. How could anyone think otherwise based on the current batches of Trueviews?
My concern was the added speculation that somehow PCGS was doing so on purpose- ("Is there goal to washout the toning?").

I asked if their goal was to washout toning. One could take it sarcastically, another could take it literally. You took it to another tangent by making it more accusatory.
Well, for that I must apologize.
Please make note you are a well respected board member.
Either way- asking the question, Is PCGS goal to "washout the toning" in their Trueviews is in and of itself somewhat accusatory- whether asked sarcastically or literally.
Your opinions and thought carry weight. You're not some fly-by-night member who's opinions and thoughts
are meaningless.

Oh no, I’m a nobody compared to some of the people on here and I’m ok with that. I need to be humbled every now and then. It reminds me to stay on my life’s quest of finding some sense of real peace.
edited to add: Image deleted as it did not serve its intended purpose
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
Might want to consider a restoration on that Mexican coin. Pcgs definitely wanted to highlight the spots in that picture
well, i see your point from the multi-picture post
playing up the toning was the other side to that coin and it was done regularly
the toner collector ppl like the flash in the TV
here's hoping they have alternate photos
going forward, do they always make it a point to play up toners, or do they shoot one played up and one not?
I was aiming for a 67RB. I ended up with a 67RD
Disappointment now because the TV’s are TOO NICE!! 😂
