HA Rant
HA website is one of the best and it is very user friendly for most of the part. I noticed one change that pissed me off. In the past year or two one of the feature changed from user friendly to invasion of privacy (maybe over stated). If you have a coin in your watch list when you bid on that coin it used to be taken off your watch list and added to you bid list. Now it is the opposite. It will add the coin to your watch list once you bid on a coin. I emailed the customer service and all he told me is I can stop watching it. I know that already but the issue is every time I bid on that coin it will add back to my watch list, then I have to take that coin off my watch list again. Why HA wants to keep the same coin in both watch list and bid list? Why HA add coin to my watch list automatically without my agreement? I am hoping someone can talk to HA about this and reverse it back.

Because they want to make it easy for you to find it, since you have expressed interest in it. There is no invasion of privacy, or anything else untoward, since the only people with access to your watch list are you and them.
If you think they are giving you all the great functionality they provide on the website without capturing all of your activity, I have a very nice bridge in the city of your choice that I would like to sell you. Basically, if you don't want people capturing your data, you need to stay off the internet, the phone, cable and satellite TV, etc.
EVERYTHING you see, say and do in 2024 is captured, aggregated and sold to marketers. HA is simply capturing your activity on its website and using it to do a little in house marketing to you. There really is no harm, but, if you don't like it, maybe Stacks or GC is a little less sophisticated and won't freak you out by helping curate your watch list.
I don’t think you understand it. They captured the activity on the biding list already. They don’t need to double capture it in another list.
Reminds me of this:

I think it’s much easier to have bids appear on both. I use the watchlist (or tracking list) when I ask questions about lots and when I make my own notes at lot viewing. Switching between lists, as one previously had to do (at Stacks as well) was a pain. Conceptually, the watchlist is for coins you are interested in and the bidding list is obviously a subset of coins you are interested in. Why would you not want the bid list to show up in both places? It’s easy to see whether or not you are actually bidding.
Programmers need something to do, so they do.
@david3142 i don’t understand why you want the same coin showed up in watch list and bidding list. If I have 20 coins in my watch list then I bid on another 20 coins then it will end up 40 coins in my watch list. You don’t think that’s too many? Watch list is the coin I am interested to see the result but not necessarily want to bid. Bid list is the one I want to buy if the price is right.
I think you do not reed well your biding agreement with them. Second what it is wrong that they announce you about the bidding on your wach list? and or about your bids? Is nothing wrong with this?? Why they add?? because you has the wach list and automaticly if you bid that lot is an wach lot. Same things happend also on the stock market wach list and offers you done. Absoluty normal and also absolutly normal to wach your activity in order to not have fraud.

@jt88 I do understand what you are trying to say….I guess. Some people scroll through the auction right before the sale happens and then bid. Adding to your watchlist seems fine to me. All I can say is heritage is not a conspiracy company. I have bid like others many thousands above my winning bid, and never had an issue. I think honestly they are doing the right thing, both for their database, and my own! At the end of the day, is this really an issue/big deal?
Edited to add: I guess if you are watching and bidding on 350 coins per auction maybe you feel you have too much information in multiple places for you to follow. But realistically, how many times have you been confused or annoyed by this? Even at 20-30 coins in a sale, I cannot possibly see how this is that confusing/annoying to someone.
They could fix the bug where if you sign in from an item page it takes you to the last item you looked at. If you open 15 items in different tabs and realize you weren't signed in, whatever tab you sign in from, you'll then get taken to the item on the last of the tabs you opened. I reported that one years ago, and it's still there. Also, they could let you save preferences for sort order, because I never care about Best Match, and 99.99% of the time just want to show me most recent sales first. But I digress...
Another silly HA rant. Why not just send them an email detailing the functionality you’d like to see.
This is an actual issue that, while is a bit time consuming, still can be worked through but could easily be changed and is a slight annoyance as it happens to me all the time lol! I’m not sure about the issue with the OP being that detrimental to auction planning.
Wasted rants have diminished any potential value to this site.
I remove items I'm bidding on from my Watch List. Some bids are auto-added to Watch Lists.
I do not understand the rants here. Here an sample of sign in very clear and easy to perform. They give also aprox selling valuation:
If someone do not understand how it is work, better to study before will rant.

Ignorance is bliss - I had no idea that feature/problem even existed .....
My rant is with their "buy it now" listings. Something happened. The listings are not organized by year. They jump around. I noticed that on Saturday.
Throw a coin enough times, and suppose one day it lands on its edge.
What I do, after signing in with multiple tabs open, I go back 2 pages (via right click; to the listing page prior to logging in) and then hit reload. That'll get you back to the right listing, logged in. Of course, you will have to reload every other tab also (but no need to login on each, thankfully).

Watch List tells one which coins one has bids on and status. One could have 1,000 coins on the list and keep track of bid lots and no-bid lots. I'm not getting the purpose of the OP.
There is a dropdown box with sorting options. If you select sort by item title A by Z it will organize the items by year. This will fix your issue when you are on a series, such as double eagles.
