Possible quarter error please help

I've got a 2003-P Maine state quarter. It's a solid silver on the edge. And I know newer quarters all have the two separate layers if you look at the edge. I was thinking this was a clad layer missing but everything I saw when I looked it up had pictures of discoloration.

Basically just wondering what kind of error this is as well as if it's even worth keeping. Thank you so much for taking your time to read this even if you may not be able to help.

    Welcome to the Forum.
Not an error. It is possible that your quarter was plated by a third party after it left the mint as many of these were. A picture and weight to two decimal points would help in verifying this.

    Welcome to the forum! :)

Many of the State quarters were plated.
Very good chance yours is one of them. ;)

  • Thank you both!
Ohhh okay. I was under the assumption that only the S mint had something done to them with them being comprised of mostly silver. Thank ya'll for the info!
