France 1767 R Ecu// 1792 5 Sols Added

There seems to be a controversy surrounding the Trueview images. Looks if this image captures the coin quite well. The grade exceeded my expectations. There are obvious adjustment marks that will not play well in some circles but that was the quality for the time and perhaps a reason coins such as this may not have the following that is truly warranted.

    @coinkat - both look nice. The dog privy (or mint?) mark on the ecu is great!

    Wonder why the ecus are plagued by adjustment marks? Really hard to find a nice example without them.

    I suspect it has more to do with the technology of the day- And the need for consistency in weight. I have accepted the fact these coins are just not going the have the same look as some other crowns/talers of that time. The 1767 R pictured is about as good as I could ever hope to find- and I am okay with that

    Your "Birmingham" coin is the same or similar to the ID icon that I use on other coin sites.
