Reads dead center on the Sigma at pre-1900 US 90%
But it's underweight at 24.6 grams.
The pitting suggests shipwreck effect. But maybe electrolysis on it as well? Or is it just a complete fake?
We are like children who look at print and see a serpent in the last letter but one, and a sword in the last.

Looks like a fake to me, hard pass. Even if it's a possible shipwreck, I don't have faith in it, that it is.
Here is mine:

Or it's a typical 1783 El Cazador wreck salvage... whichever.
These are some of mine:

Thae 1784 is nice and lustrous for an chopped Asian hoard piece. Usually they come worn out, encrusted, horribly cleaned/polished b/c they were encrusted, or some combo thereof. That's AU det. w/luster.
Looks just like all the Cazador pieces I've ever seen
I'm BACK!!! Used to be Billet7 on the old forum.
Great eye and I agree. My favorite example by far. She's got some really nice luster under the, uhm, stuff that's she's smeared with. Pictures don't do her justice but you can kind of get the idea:

I don't like it. Rim looks bad, possibly a cast fake.
