I just dumped 2,000 back into circulation, so hope that helps lol

Do you search them? I’m asking because it appears that you are dumping a full box. If you would like to post your finds, you can do that in the coin roll and mint set thread. You’ll always be welcome there.

Yes, i do search them. It was 2 boxes of $500 each. I also had a $500 quarter box, and a $25 box of pennies.

    1 40% kennedy, 5 W quarters, and a ton of wheaties ~20 with earliest at 1922.

5 Ws from a box! That’s exceptional! Also, that 1922-D cent is a very tough find in the wild. If you could, I would appreciate it if you post your finds in the coin roll and mint set thread so the other searchers can see what you have found.

Will do! I don't hunt too often. I'll pickup 2 or 3 boxes when i know i'm going to have a slow weekend.

    Great!

I talked to a guy returning two boxes of halves to the Coinstar. He only checks for 90% and 40%. I showed him what graded lowballs and a few other dates are worth. The values of graded lowballs left him catatonic; he could not grasp the concept. I think I ruined his perfect scheme, he was eager for me to stop and leave him be.

I haven't seen any in change other than those that I have spent myself, though I hope this production trend from the Mint continues and we start seeing some 2024 issues in circulation.

Also, anytime someone comes up to me asking what their clad Kennedy is worth, my go-to response is "good for the morning coffee."

Interesting discussion. I just posted a question about this, and ChrisH821 directed me here. Enthusiastic roll searcher here...though haven't for awhile. I was surprised to 9 rolls of 2023p out of 4 boxes, plus a fair number of franklins and 40 percent Kennedies...like a couple each a box. Also a nice Walker. I called the mint, and asked if they have sent any to the Fed and was told ''no, not since 2001''. Even had the Customer service gal check on that, still the same answer, circulating quality coins are sold only to dealers and collectors. not convinced that's the whole answer, especially with the quantities I'm seeing...but hey it keeps it interesting, right?

I give them out as change at shows setup at - my bank has had plenty of them. Generally CH AU pieces. Sometimes use them at JB (Jack in the box).

Store outside Rollins pond Tupper lake NY. Hands them out in change. Get three or four each year.

A few years ago I got a SBA $ in change when a worker should have given me a quarter. I used it at another fast good joint and the manager had a hard time figuring out what it was. Amazing that reading skills are not required at fast food joints.
