I've been selling coins on consignment on eBay since mid-2003, and in that time have earned a stellar reputation for my photographs and overall auction results, as well as my low rates. <> Low Fees. As a Top-Rated Seller with a store, I get reduced eBay fees, and those savings go to you. My personal commission is just 7% ($12 minimum per item). The standard eBay final value fee (which includes payment processing) is 13.25%, but my fees as a volume seller are just 9%. Right off the bat, 60% of my percentage-based commission (which kicks in at an item price of $171.43) can be covered by this fee savings.
[Note: eBay's fee isn't exact because it also applies to shipping/any potential sales tax, can change percentages slightly based on buyer location, and also includes a fixed $0.30 fee per order. In the event a coin goes missing in the mail or an issue arises where a buyer claims the package was empty do you cover it under your own insurance?
My insurance policy covers all my shipments, so if there are any issues en route, my insurance covers it.
