Tri State coin show report from PA today. Lots of pics
Amazing change to this show…backstory as you may or may not know this used to be a huge regional show. With the pandemic it fell on hard times. However every story has a happy ending. A White knight arrived by the name of Bob Paul
who bought the show and is in process of building it back up into a terrific show once again…pic of outside hotel. Lots of parking spots
Here is show schedule
So let’s give the good and bad
First location. It’s right next door to “Sesame Place”. I know I can’t get the song 🎶 can you tell me how to get how to get to Sesame Street “ out of my head. So it’s really ez to find just follow the signs to Sesame Place and it’s right next door at the Sheraton Hotel which is a fantastic venue and plenty of party. Restaurant inside hotel. And a zillion places to eat all around… so big plus… Come Sat stay overnight and enjoy the show. Send the kids to Sesame Place and or for adult entertainment their is the Parx casino 15 min away
The show is really both dealer and collector friendly. Meaning no admission charges free parking and free drawings taking place during the show. Plus collectors got free money to spend as they walked in the door. Can’t beat that. Here’s a pic of the lobby area as you enter the show
Did I mention that ANACS is there and taking submissions
Now what makes a show great are number of tables and dealers. Last year it was down to half a dozen
With Bob and his son Adam in charge it’s already up to 25 and in a few months looks like it will be up to around 40-50 dealers
Here’s a few pics of the bourse.
We need some great new shows and this one checks all the boxes. Wide Assortment of coins even currency dealer and stamp dealers. So something for everyone
We had a real fun day meeting new friends and old friends. Gave several people some great deals and picked up some amazing coins.
Hope you get the chance to check it out in the future. Til next week.
Comments
Hope it continues going forward. Has all the ingredients to do so.
Any junk boxes or people selling recent singles for a small fish who's just looking to fill a few holes in their collection & stay up-to-date? Got disillusioned with the show at Ft. Washington, PA maybe a decade or so ago, when it seemed like just about every display was expensive slabbed gold or silver coins, and nothing for someone who'd grown up just filling holes in Whitman folders........ Guess I'm a dieing breed..
What town / city is this located ?
This is Langhorne, correct?
Lower Bucks County Pa., which is just outside of north Philadelphia. Close to the Pa Turnpike. It's on my calendar. Thanks. Peace Roy
