Any thoughts on this? Worth getting it graded? Though I can’t read a date. Any value? Thank you for your input.

PMD. Environmental damage. Not an error. Probably worth no more than 5c in that condition.
Corroded metal detector find.
Value 5 cents
Conclusion: Don't waste your money on grading.

Yes. Certainly not worth grading as it appears to be a severely corroded, dateless Buffalo.
Might be worth a few cents more than a nickel though as part of a dateless Buffalo grouping with other dateless herd mates. Folks do pay a little more than face for these but the rewards aren’t going to pay for a vacation, new car or early retirement.

looks like a metal detecting dig to me. dont waste your money a damaged thing like that, jmo
It's only 75% copper.
As mentioned above, nickels are 75% copper. When they spend time in the ground they turn that sort of color.
Do not grade, it is a damaged coin.
At least you asked here first.

What date would you write on the submission form if you sent it to be graded?

It's a unique 1912 pattern buffalo nickel.
Prove me wrong.
