Sorcery contested realm beta curio card

I pulled this card the other day out of a box. It is a very rare curio card, last sales on ebay 2k to 5k. My question is this, I sent the card to psa to grade 150 tier because of the value and fast turn around. Does PSA know about these cards? I put in the comments that this is a curio card not a regular exceptional card from the set and not to grade if PSA would not distinguish this as a curio card. I also said I would pay for return shipping back to me if they would not label the card a curio. Any thoughts, suggestions or input would be helpful. Thank you

No knowledge on this set, but generally you would modify the entry in the database (what you selected when you entered the card) so it reflects the version you are submitting if that version is NOT in the database. You generally would not want to select a base version and then just put in the notes field that you want it graded as something else.... As well, when it goes through research and ID, you will see what it was entered as by the rep if modified (as that is the ONLY thing that will be reflected on the flip/label, the grader doesn't control that.). If you disagree, then you hit the report error button and plead you case.

  • Rufuss thank you for the help. I submitted a ticket with PSA 2 days ago asking the same questions I posted here. But no response from PSA. PSA has graded cards from this set (not many) but they have not graded a curio card. I was hoping I would hear back from PSA but nothing yet. The only question I have is do they know what the card is?

Based on the search, I don't see that PSA has entries for Curio's.... What you should have done is select the second one, then added the word CURIO to the end, then select manually add at the bottom. What did you put/select when you submitted the card?

I have had problems in the past with submitting cards that PSA doesn't know about.
Too late now, but I would contact Gayle or Cosetta before submitting something this unusual. Adding a note has never worked for me.
    Good luck!!!

I had to read this thread just because all the words in the subject line meant nothing to my collector brain except 'card' :)

Hahaha. Same. Glad to see helpful responses.

  • I will NEVER use PSA again. I have tried to call and have started multiple support tickets, email with NO response. This is the service you get when you spend $150.00 to have 1 card graded. Ridiculous

Huh.... that's not really what you pay for.... Did they not grade it? Did they label it wrong (that would be on you since they tell you how they are going to label it after research & ID stage). So if you called, what did the person tell you. It can take over a week to get an email response because they get a lot of email. Are you going to use GMA instead now? You need to reset your expectations, maybe re-evaluate your life :D

  • You cant talk to any one at PSA they are not taking phone calls. I have created 4 support tickets with no reply. So tell me how I re-evalute my life? And NO they did not tell me how they were going to label the card after research & ID stage the card is now in the grading stage. So after multiple support tickets and phone calls with nothing from PSA what else is there to do. My expectations as a PAYING customer is to get an answer for a service I paid for. Or is that asking too much? And I understand that companys get busy but after 4 business days with no reply for a very simple question especially when the card has a 5 day turnaround. My fault is I did not research PSA when it comes to them grading cards like this one.

It takes about 5 days to respond. It's recommended to summit all questions before submitting the card for grading.

YES, they DID tell you, it is the "grading stage" where they tell you what it is going to be labeled as.... (see below). Also you can talk to someone at PSA all the time.... You just have to call at 7am PST to enter the queue, and then they call you back by the end of the day. Otherwise if you call later they don't take anymore calls for the day and you have to try again another day. Also, you haven't paid for a damn thing yet!! They charge you at the end...
