Updated pics of my 12 piece type set ~ 2024

Most of you have probably already seen these coins, but it’s the first time that I have done a group photo since a few upgrades have been added.

This has been a very fun set to do and I continually enjoy owning these coins. Unless something comes along that blows me away the only coin that I specifically want to update still is the type one gold dollar, I want that in MS 64, but I’m waiting for the right one to come along…

The rattler that I will be upgrading will be kept because that is actually the very coin that started this whole set, so it has a special place in my collection no matter what I replace it with!

I completed the set but pivoted in a different direction with my gold sets and sold most of the coins to fund other purchases. But here it was when it was complete.

It’s not in the picture, but I’ve gone sideways a little bit, because I have all three of the Liberty double eagles.

And I may possibly go with no motto five and 10 liberties only if I find ones I like, of course. If I never buy those, I’m OK with that.

Two left to upgrade! The Type 2 dollar (AU55) and the 3 dollar (AU50) the rest are MS63

Very Nice Sets! I only have these 3 so far and the Gauden’s is the only one slabbed. Completing a set like yours is one of my main coin collecting goals. I always love to see what you guys have.

I'm working on it as a background task, and am about half done. I don't have good photos of those coins. Grades so far range from MS63 to MS66. With current budget constraints, I don't see myself making much progress on it any time soon.
But nice work on your set!

A 20 piece set covers 1834-1933 and would include T1,T2,T3 Liberty double eagles, motto/no motto etc.

That 20 piece set would be a good bridge between the 12 and 36. I do believe PCGS would create the set with a few requests.
