Odd quarter error question

Hi--I have a Washington quarter which looks pretty clear on the front however it looks like the back was never stamped on. Instead the back shows only a ring a little less than 1/2 way to center and a dot in the center.
I've not read about this type of error, how would I look into this?

A clear photo of both sides are required before anyone can help
otherwise we would just be guessing.

    Welcome to the forum! :)

As mentioned photos are needed to say anything for sure.
It sounds like post mint damage. (PMD)

That can't happen at the Mint. It sounds like your coin was altered with a metal lathe. The reverse was ground off.
