I read how fast some member here got fast turnaround time, And that is great. However, my submission was received on 12/4/2023, and still waiting to go to grading.??

    Pat,

Same type thing , dropped off two regulars in baltimore one finally is in encapsulation and the other still in grading, but, I sent an economy in first week of december and it has already has come back and been sold. I called them and asked, but really havent learned why ?

It partly depends on the level of service you request. I had an expedited service I sent mid Dec and received in hand a week ago.

I sent in a batch for the Regular service in Aug and it took about 2.5 months to get back.

This seems to be the new way. It will stay in "received" until its in they're almost ready for grading, but then the grading through grades ready stage isn't that long.

Right now is a difficult time to make any comparisons because of Holidays, New Years and FUN show which added to more employees away from the workplace.

The date received was before the holidays and THE fun SHOW. The count is over 20 days.?

@clarkbar04 I suspect that you are correct here…
I currently have 3 submissions that were logged as received 11/29 with no progress.
I have had a few others from October and November that showed received for quite awhile then went through reasonably quickly..
I’m guessing this is the new MO, perhaps instead of folks orders languishing in the grading queue and PCGS fielding calls about why no progress, this is just a different way for the customer to perceive turn around times?

That is my take as well. "grading" sounds like something is happening, but after 20-40 days in that step, clearly you're just a part of the grading queue so "received" seems more accurate.

I have two submissions turned in at FUN that were still marked "Received." I came here to find out if others are experiencing this unusually long delay in "Received." PCGS has been rather loose in updating progress for me in the past. I had coins delivered to my mailbox at noon that were marked in QC at the start of the day. Then it changed quickly to "Delivered." WHAT?! YUP! So, I think y'all are right in that coins may stay in "Received" more now than spending a long time in grading. I only have a few attributions requested and I provide the WB-# for them.

My previous submission at Summer FUN was returned in about two months. It was quickly processed but stayed a few weeks in QC. I was pleased by the speed after waiting 5 months on my first submission, though the results of that exciting first submission more than made up for the wait. It's still early in the submission. No worries - good to know others are experiencing the same thing.
