Is this a DD?

I’m new to coin collecting, and I was wondering if this is a DD — thanks for your help!

  • After doing more research, I think the coin might be a ‘Double Struck’ coin.

Is a double struck coin worth sending it to be graded and evaluated by PCGS?

    Thanks for your help :)

  • Ok ty very much, I’m going to read about machine doubling :)

  • Even though machine doubling is common, it would be nice if PCGS would start writing it on the label — machine doubling might not give the coin any more financial value, but it’s really cool to look at :)

(And who knows? Peoples flavor for coins changes over the years, look at the history of toning on coins),

Really cool machine doubling is still an interesting coin :)

There is so much machine doubling that there is little point in calling it out. Almost any handful of pocket change will have some. It may not be as pronounced as your coin, but it's there.
