    Yes, but it's more likely a metal wire than a fabric fiber.

    Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.

    Did not look at the Mintmark, only the very cool appropriate error.

    That's what happens when you Don't flatten your staples :D
    Could be a rouge wire from a wire brush.

    The irregular shape tends to make me agree with the "struck through fiber" designation. Wire would be a lot straighter and less random.
