Has PCGS photos for coin submissions fallen off?

I have had coins in for grading and they have come to a complete stop. Nothing on the photos…..anyone else having submissions that seem to have stopped?

They had some photo staff at Winter FUN last week. Before that there were holidays. Before that I think they had a couple photographers leave. If things have been slow, these could be some contributing reasons.

Ugh….seems that they have been doing this for a long time. With Photoshop you can automate 99% of the process. This should be the least of their efforts in getting coins back to customers.

Maybe 70%, but definitely not 99%.

I have used PS and there are automated sequences that you can have the program run. Its a lot closer to 99% than 70%.

So this is just a Photoshop exercise now? Dang, no camera needed, no lens needed, no lighting needed, no photographer needed. In Photoshop Beta, you can just type in a prompt of "show me a pretty coin" and hope that AI matches up with what the coin that was submitted. I like it! ;)

On a more serious note, Alex and I are very familiar with what goes into coin photography, batch processing with actions in Photoshop etcetera but I think you might be minimizing the amount of work involved here.
