Set Retirement

I’ve been an avid Barber collector for many years- Dimes, Quarters, and Halves. I have Everyman sets of each denomination, and a “complete” Barber set consisting of all 3 denominations.

I’ve decided to sell my Barber Dime set; it’s part of the “complete” Everyman set. This set is #2 in the Registry; I would like to Retire it before taking out the dimes.

My question is, if I Retire the “Complete” set that consists of Quarters and Halves as well, will the Halves and Quarters in their respective Everyman sets automatically retire as well? They’re part of the complete set, but I only want to retire the “Complete “ set.

I love them Barber Halves.....

Congrats on your accomplishment! Not sure the best way to handle your set though.

Usually, you can retire a complete set, and the subsets will remain. Just don't delete the "checked coins" and they should all still stay in your other sets because they are still active in your inventory.

It can be tricky, why not give Paulina a call before you do anything to make sure
    Congrats on the sets!

    Kim
It's not a subset it's the complete set combined
He might have to make seperate sets of each and then retire just the dimes.
I'd double check but the registry is DOWN AGAIN!!!!

If you retire the complete set, but still have separate sets of each denomination, those separate sets will not be retired as they are still active. Also, you can't remove coins from a retired set. No risk as long as you do not delete any coins from the complete set before retiring it.

You remove the coins from the dime set that is separate that you want to sell after retiring the complete set intact. The quarters and halves sets are unaffected.

Also, any retired set can be restored by asking.

    and yes, down again.

    Kim,
    Here is his set

Like I said it's all one set with Dimes, Quarters, and Halfs in one set.
I don't think he can retire the set and keep the Quarters and Halfs, he would have to make separate sets of each type first
    What say you?

As I looked, he has all the separate sets already.

Thanks for all the comments and insight. I do have separate Everyman sets of dimes, quarters, and halves, I also have a combined Everyman set of the 3 denominations.

    I love them Barber Halves.....

    Yes, I see
So, what do you want to do exactly?

So, I took the plunge and retired my Everyman Barber Dime set. It now shows as retired and didn't retire the other sets that included those coins! That's good news; now to retire the other sets that included the coins I'm selling.

    I love them Barber Halves.....
