Yes. As they call it, a mechanical error.
Oh so a mechanical error is where an obvious mistake was made with the label. Got it, thanks. This coin isn't mine, it's on eBay.

I am surprised it got a MAC sticker
Yes, an obvious error and still another pair of eyes didn't catch it.

Maybe the grader was HIGH when he graded it.

I bought a coin that had a mechanical error. I called customer service, and they took good care of me. It was a very surprising and a problem free experience that NGC corrected very quickly for me.

Errors do happen. Here is a coin I purchased already in the PCGS holder and with the CAC sticker. The coin is a 1934 Texas commemorative in a holder that says it is a 1935-S. So, the date and mintmark are both wrong. If they got the date wrong and the mint wrong, it kind of makes you wonder about the grade.
Apparently CAC thought the grade was right since they put their sticker on it. If you look the coin up at PCGS and CAC you will see that the number is valid at both and it shows the coin is a 1935-S. Unfortunately, neither has any photos.
I have a mechanical error on a rotated die Kennedy half. Label says rotated 60 degrees. Its rotated 120 degrees.

Definitely a low leaf and not a high leaf!
Is there any added value to the MAC sticker? I have a coin with that.
I don't think I paid any premium for this one with a MAC sticker

2004-D Leaf Low for reference
It's a low leaf example.

I have no idea what MAC even means. I should probably look it up.

MAC stickers?

Amazing that as close as they look at coins for grading they could miss the mint date.
