What a drag. Bellevue Rare Coins owns several shops in the general Seattle area. Great people, nice stores.
If you live in the NW, keep an eye out for creeps selling rolls of Silver Krugerrands. So annoying. News story link below.

Sounds like the police response is not encouraging. I wonder if the crime scene was processed?

LInks work fine now, thank you.
As stated, it looks like the crooks had been inside the store to observe the alarm sensors, and planned their attack carefully.
Over the years I've seen this time and time again. They break into the vacant business next door and cut through the dividing wall. Every time it's reported the news anchor acts like it was the first time.
Definitely someone who knew the insides too well...
" He said he thinks the burglars knew the room’s layout because they put something on a pole to block a motion sensor in that room. It tripped an alarm, but they avoided the camera in the room so when the owner checked in real-time, he only saw an empty room."
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
Looks like they got the guy. His name was on a crowbar left behind

When I was in 7th grade we took a field trip to the courthouse and sat in on a criminal trial. Armed robbery of two 7-11s by two guys who were perfectly masked and you'd never find them. So how did they find the guy who was on the stand and get him to plead guilty and testify against the other guy? He tore his butt pocket on the counter when leaving the second store, and out fell his wallet with his driver's license and social security card. He never picked that up. Whoopsies.
"Hmmmm, now where did I leave that crowbar?"......................

You have to wonder what dollar amount of a theft would warrant a Tacoma detective putting another case on the back burner and heading right over. $500,000, a million dollars??
That McGee doesn't seem to be too bright.

Here's some of one of the many articles: $300,000 - and no - not bright at all.........
"On Christmas Day of last year, the owners of Bellevue Rare Coins learned that between Dec. 24 and Dec. 25, approximately $300,000 worth of merchandise was stolen. The merchandise included coins and silver bars, according to a statement of probable cause.
Police discovered that entry was made by cutting a hole through a shared wall with a vacant business next door. Inside, they found a crowbar with the name "McGee" engraved on it.
During their investigation, police received information about a vehicle used during the burglary. They found the vehicle, which was registered to McGee, according to a statement of probable cause. The vehicle had the same damage to it as the one seen in outside surveillance video at the business.
Police received tips from people who said they saw McGee with bags that contained gold and silver bars and coins. At least one person said he showed them the coins as well as some money he received for selling some of the merchandise.
When confronted by police, McGee said he didn't know anything about the burglary.
Police found a metal tube and a hard plastic case with a large number of coins inside McGee's home. They found additional coins at a relative's home, according to a statement of probable cause."

States he got out of jail by paying a $35,000 bond. Wonder if he paid it in gold coins -![:D :D](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
