Facebook Group: U.S. Coin and Paper Money, Question about some prices to good to be true...

So I just joined the above group on Facebook for info gathering. Notice a Sale where prices were extremely low on a set of $20 U.S. Gold pieces certified PCGS (Some prices on other items were more believable). Red Flag for me was that all the admins and moderators except for one started 12/23. The other started 8/23. Facebook states there are 8.1k members. Anyone else notice this sale going on in Facebook?

That's probably a scam group, there are a ton of them where all the moderators and admins are fake accounts from Cameroon and they try to trick people into sending them money, stay away.
Any fully public coin group on Facebook is not trustworthy, the good groups are private (have to apply and get approved by admins to gain entry), they are moderated well and the members are vetted. Here are some of the reputable groups you could join, I am a moderator in several.
For pre 33 US GOLD (I moderate here) :

For CAC/CACG (also a moderator) :

For World Gold (also a moderator here):

For old holders (not a moderator, but a friend is):

All around, non specific but large group. Ran by Rob Oberth (Roundtable):

For generic silver dollars and half dollars, one of the admins here are the same admins as coin scam reporter below:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/thesilverdollarandhalves/?mibextid=oMANbw
And here are two groups that expose scammers and other scam groups, these are very useful. That said, some of the admins have a terrible reputation and the two groups actually feud and talk crap about each other. Nevertheless, many scammers are exposed here:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/theofficialnumismaticblacklist/?mibextid=oMANbw
That's about it, there are some other good smaller groups but they don't have very much activity. If you have any further questions feel free to send me a pm. There are a lot of tips and tricks you can use to protect yourself when transacting on facebook. Mostly, checking successful references from other members.

Counterfeit?
Not counterfeit, just a flat-out scam. You send them money, you will receive nothing, and then they will block you and burn that account. Rinse, repeat.

I don't do Facebook. There's enough trouble here.
"Next Door" is the absolute worst. I've never seen one useful thing there. It's just people complaining about their neighbors, local businesses, and losing their cats and dogs.
+1 for Nextdoor. What was once a useful place about neighborhoods and local services has turned into a cesspool full of people who have their own ideas on what to do with petty thieves (much of it violent), along with other useless political or personal rants.
That being said, I've actually tried to help people that were looking to sell their bullion or silver coins. Even those threads got infested with scammers or people who were looking to take advantage of someone ("my uncle Louie will buy your coins, just meet him in the back alley behind the train tracks")

Next Door is crap. The coin prices are alright. I bought two collections at face value last year. One had clad and some silver proofs of all denominations, and the other was a set of nickel rolls from 2000-2020. Just do a quick search and get gone before you are reading about the sewer failures in the new subdivisions.
