Does this mean I'm cursed?

ChrisH821ChrisH821 Posts: 6,507 ✭✭✭✭✭

In one hand I was casually examining an uncirculated 1974-D Washington quarter, just to see if I needed to keep it set aside or not. My other arm was holding my cat. I tossed this coin onto my desk sort of "quarters" style if you know the game... and I'm not making this up...

it landed...

like this...

I think I need to either hunker down or go buy a lottery ticket.

Send it in to grade and ask for the special "landed sideways" label. :D

"Once landed on edge" would be a pretty cool holder insert. :D
I might actually put it in a flip with that as a label.

If you were able to do it ten times in a row I'd say there is a problem.............................. :o

Buy a lottery ticket, why mess with quarters (unless it's with a keg of beer 🍺)

Block about twelve cubic inches in acetate. Cool to get the photo anyway!

Reminds me of the movie "Truth or Consequences N.M."

Throughout the movie a guy was flipping a coin and near the end, the quarter landed on it's edge...

I agree, should be good for 10x.
Parlay that into a winning Powerball ticket and let the fun begin.
    YMMV.
Cool picture, your desk is almost too clean.

It would be really something if you then tossed your cat and it landed on its head or tail.

Encase the entire desk and coin in resin and donate it to the Smithsonian.

That is astounding. I just tried to do the same thing, regular quarter on flat paper on desk, could not get it to stand trying my best to balance it :open_mouth:

Another thought: Your house and that table must be "completely" level, which is odd but not impossible. Or maybe just the paper it landed on.

In my alley catting days while at a tavern I dropped a cigarette. For what seemed like an eternity. I could not find where it went/landed, not until I stepped away, it was standing straight up having landed on the filter end. Too many beers does that to a guy.
