I saw this coin for sale by a well know dealer with an asking price of $9K. PCGS price guide is $1.250.00.
Only the obv is shown.
What am I missing?

A NGC graded one sold for 1,080 about a year ago, so I’m not sure what’s going by on. He might have made a typo and meant to ask for $900 instead of $9,000.
Type collector, mainly into Seated. -formerly Ownerofawheatiehorde. Good BST transactions with: mirabela, OKCC, MICHAELDIXON, Gerard
It's the so-called "cancelled die" obverse variety but not sure it carries that much of a premium. Especially that much.
Are the dealer's initials JL?
I would definitely check it out more, also look on Greysheet.com, look on heritage and other auctions just to see if one sold like it..
I just found the coin on his website. No surprise. He probably grades the coin a 66 and is asking for a commensurate price. This is his modus operandi. Seemingly , he does not agree with many TPG grades and generally pretends their opinions don't exist.
What does the reverse look like if it’s posted?
If you decide to work with that dealer, you need to trust his opinion, not anyone else's. Why would you need to see both sides of the coin if the NGC grade is only off by 4 grades?

I’ve seen him at the LB coin show with his overpriced wares. I thought this was a “special” coin hence the crazy price. But alas not.
Pass.
No comment, other than here's a low-res reverse image image:
I will never hang up on this dealer. What an TPG will be wrong 4 grades down??!!!. I want a breack out. The damage it is are many like this around.
Just pass.

You could ask the dealer if the price was a typo pointing out recent auction prices. Could be a simple mistake.
If not just skip and look else where.
I know if I was to sell a nice for the grade coin I would price in a premium but probably not enough to go one grade level up and certainly not four.
