A little field chatter on the obverse but a clean cheek. Semi-prooflike fields with nice frost on the devices, and a decent strike with nice breast feathers. 65 or 66, I'm on the fence, seeing it in hand would push me off of it.
Clean cheek unlike that other one. Whatever happened with it?
Which coin ?
The one that CAC bodybagged
The only coin I can think of is the 1885-O Morgan $1 that CAC slabbed in a details holder…. That’s now in a PC67+ holder and was traded a while back. To my knowledge, the new owner has no intention of submitting it to CAC for stickering. If you’re referring to something else, you’ll have to give the specifics… otherwise I have no idea.

Very nice example and well deserving IMHO.
A fun and educational GTG. Thank you! 🙂
Thank you 🙏🏻
The San Francisco run of Morgan’s from 1885-89 are notoriously difficult to find in PL/DMPL…. This coin is a pop 1/1(PCGS/CAC) for the grade with only two higher(both 66’s). It’s a really cool coin and It’ll be extremely difficult to find another 89-S like it. 😊

Definitely..... the '89-S is a real toughie in PL and super scarce in any DMPL grade above MS64. That is a nice one!

MS66PL, great looking Morgan!
I respect PCGS and admire the beauty and detail in their Trueviews, but one cannot accurately grade from a Trueview.

Going to guess a bit different from the crowd thus far and say that it's a 64PL.

Grading off true views you always have to go down a grade. MS65.
64+, no PL. It could go 65 but a lot of chatter on the temple. But the fields and the rest are so clean maybe it could go 65 or better. Very nice.

I'm guessing 64PL and if it didn't make PL, it just missed it.
