title says it all and if you saw this in an auction, how much would you bid?

Does the coin have another side?

I may have owned that coin some years back, unfortunately the pictures were in photobucket.
Business strike VF 20 and scarce as all get out.
Editing my guess now that the reverse image is posted, bumping it up to VF 30.
yes, but then I would have to edit out cert number (maybe tomorrow - no problems and should not affect your guess)
VF 20
...I'd have to do more research to figure out how much to bid given that I don't follow this series
Okay, then I'll go with 35.

VF 20 also
I am leaning toward 30 myself.

Could I get a reverse picture to determine if it’s a proof or the crazy rare business strike.

second request for reverse so here you go ++++
I’m going with VF-30.
20
what are the markers tell which one you have?
This may help;
"Proofs and circulation strikes were struck mostly from the same dies. (One reverse die with a recut S in STATES is believed to have been used only for circulation strikes.) After the dies were retired from Proof production they were used to mint circulation strikes."

VF25. My bid would be based on it being a circulated proof. I would not pay a premium for a coin that was claimed to be MS as I don't buy into the so-called expert explanations of how to differentiate between proof and MS.
Proof 30 i would still pay around 200 for the coin as there are collectors trying to fill out a set
@davewesen i can reveal the tell/indicator if you like….
Is all the yellow stuff on it residue?
Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value. Zero. Voltaire. Ebay coinbowlllc
25
Im in the 25 camp. Looks like solid even wear.
I know its a tough date but would need to look up auction trends to know about bids.
The yellow will come off in acetone but the coin might look worse because the black on the reverse won't.
sure, I was underbidder on a recent auction and was wondering when I should have stopped bidding.
PCGS grade is PR30 and the price guide value is $145

A proof?? And that's why I know little about grading!!!

A great coin for an album collection.
Ok, i’ll admit i am somewhat obsessed and certainly fascinated by the Shield nickel series..
I’ve been studying and learning about them for years and still feel like there is a lot more to learn!
If you look at the reverse underneath the second T in States you will see a small circular die chip or flaw, every Business strike has this flaw, if it’s not there it’s a Proof..
The Shield nickel series is littered with RPM’s, Repunched dates, Die cracks and a multitude of cracks, DDO, DDR’s etc…every coin is an adventure and i believe there are multiple variations yet to be discovered.
Thanks, I see it now and confirmed it on all PCGS business 1880 True Views. I searched the internet and could not find this die marker explained. I like Shield nickels as well, but probably closer to the lower end of my 10 favorite series. ++++
