Early this month a local coin club member asked if I'd send some unopened 2023 modern proofs to PCGS for him. I decided to add to the order and split the shipping costs by finally taking a coin-by-coin look at a roll of 2014 (P) American Silver Eagles I bought in March, and picking out the ones I thought were pristine. I found 7. Everything was sent Modern Value Economy service. The turnaround speed was insanely fast. Here's the timeline:
Dec. 4 – coins mailed at Post Office
Dec. 7 – USPS tracking showed package delivered to PCGS
Dec. 11 – PCGS logged in coins as Received
Dec. 13 – coins went to Grading stage
Dec. 14 – coins advanced to Encapsulation stage
Dec. 15 – coins advanced to Quality Assurance stage
Dec. 19 – grades posted (late morning)
Dec. 19 – PCGS status showed coins shipped (mid afternoon)
Dec. 19 – FedEx sent text saying package was on its way (late afternoon)
Dec. 20 – FedEx status says delivery is expected today which I'll only believe if it happens.
Here are the grade results:

I am not sure it's because your order was for moderns or not, but it's probably because one of my orders is not slowing down the process.

I know you may be joking, but I had mentioned something to this effect before as well. I’ve had submissions where I did not want trueviews, and the coins were “being imaged” during the grading stage, encapsulation stage, and the QA stage. Sometimes I think PCGS has turned into a photography company with the annoying nuisance of grading a coin between endless glamour shots.
Amazing timeline.
