rare 90s inserts are very desirable. I am not surprised by the price at all.

Plus there are many collectors that prefer BGS over PSA. Although Nat Turner now owns PSA and has probably thousands of Jordan PSA graded cards in his collection,there was a time not too long ago when he'd post his Photobucket account over on BO that literally had an entire Jordan collection of BGS 9.5 Jordan's.

I've seen many longtime collectors go by the adage: BGS to PC/PSA to Sell
Obviously around here its quite different.

if someone owns a BGS Gem Mint MJ High Voltage, maybe its that time to sell. 😉

I have many cards in PSA cases, I have just as many in BGS cases. to be honest, the BGS cases offer more protection in my opinion.

The BGS slab is Superior in every physical facet.

i love sgc slabs, very sturdy and display great. beckett second then psa.

I used to think the BGS slab was much more sturdier than PSA too but I can honestly say that out of all of the damaged slabs that I've dealt with over the years, for every one cracked PSA slab I had, there were 4-5 damaged BGS ones. Then it was a huge pita getting the slabs replaced because I'd send them to Beckett and your guess was as good as mine when they'd be back. I remember two times where the new slabs came back cracked too.

I do love how they sleeve their cards in the slab though.

What are you guys doing to your slabs? Running them over with a steam roller?

I've only ever damaged one slab in my 25+yrs of graded cards and that only happened because Ultra-pro's BGS graded card pages didn't allow you to remove the slab with ease.
I've had at least 20-30 slabs arrive damaged during shipping from both graders and sellers alike. Many sellers think that their methods to packaging are adequate when most really aren't.

BGS 9 Tim Duncan High voltage numbered to 500 sold for $4,000. Those high voltage cards must be great.

For football the 1984 and up rack pack inserts seem especially low priced. 1984 Marino and Dickerson. 1987 1000 yard Payton and Rice.

Thats because it’s Tim’s rookie year and those High Voltage 500 are #’d to 500. This set both the regular version and the serial #’d to 500 versions are very popular for 90’s inserts collectors.

It really doesn’t surprise me at all to see certain 90’s inserts of the better stars & rookies selling high.

IIRC I sold my Jordan High Voltage PSA 8.5 for around $800-900 back during the time when the Last Dance aired.
