Last night my local coin club had their Christmas party, and I think everyone had fun. As part of the party we have an auction that raises money for the club. Generally speaking, the items are modest donations from members, and more for fun and camaraderie than the value of the items. As you can see below... I was a BIG spender :p

  • 1978-S Proof Jefferson Nickel (PCGS69DCAM) = $1.50
  • 2011-S Proof Jefferson Nickel (PCGS69DCAM) = $1.50
  • 2014 50th Anniversary Kennedy (clad) P&D Sets in OGP (x2) = $22.00 (happy to get this because my twins were born in 2014)
  • 2011 (x1) and 2015 (x2) Redbooks = $1.00 (Gave two Rebooks away already)
  • Wooden Slab Display Box = $1.00 (hope to put a slab in this and give it as a gift)

Grand total = $27

Not too shabby... and $22 of it goes right into coins of my boys' birth year!

Hope you all find nice deals for yourselves or others as you have your own numismatic gatherings :)

I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.
