Actually, the Fed officials have been walking back the drop in yields since last week.

And no, Powell would NOT say something like that.

Greenspan would have never said that; a fed member should NEVER say that - out of line.

When has the Fed ever given us price stability? The dollar loses value every year.

No, it's why you have 7 voting members of the FOMC as Governors and 5 rotating presidents. You expect differences among them....it's the 7 permanent members (Governors) plus the Chairman and the President of the NY Fed who have the most influence.

If you want a never-ending price index, then you will have recessions and deflation and unemployment up the wazoo !!

That's not what I said AT all.

I am talking about during recessionary or exogenous shock times. Internal or external adjustments....take your pick. :)

It is a false assumption that Central Banks are good for stabilization.
Meddling in, and central planning of, the economy only begets more and more of the same to stave off the inevitable.

Better to let free markets function without any interference.

The central bank has done a wonderful job fixing the trainwreck we experienced as a result of the policies implemented circa 2016-2020ish. The rate increases have slowed inflation, wages have increased substantially and anybody who wants to work has multiple employment opportunities. The economy is absolutely booming. Hell NVDA gained $250B+ market cap today alone. God bless the FED and god bless America. RGDS!

The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.
