This is a small lot of interesting contemporary **bogus **coinage.
The 1856 "gold" $1 has medal alignment. The base metal is probably copper or brass with gold wash applied.
The holed 1853 "gold" $1 has normal alignment. The base metal is probably copper or brass with gold wash applied. Most of the wash is missing from the obverse.
I haven't tried to attribute the 'cut' fake Bust Half. It's probably an 1833 type. This is the first "cut" fake bust half that I have encountered.
In-hand, these pieces look a bit better than the photo indicates.

nice pieces !
So are you guaranteeing these items are genuine fakes, or are they otherwise identified as replicas ?
Hi.....
Yes I guarantee that these are contemporary fakes. They are not modern reproductions. They have no gold content.
There's lots more historical info on similar fakes here---> https://badmetalcoin.com/counterfeit-u-s-gold
Full refund if unsatisfied. If you buy and want to return them, let me know quickly since I am selling these for a friend and will have to settle with him ASAP. Thanks
