1946 penny with the "L" in Liberty stamped into the edge?

Greetings all, I came across a 1946 penny that may be a possible coin error. Just wondering if this a common for this year penny or is this a coin error. The "L" in Liberty is stamped in the rim, also the lettering along the edge is a little off and the "E" in "WE" is lower. Looking forward to the comments and feedback from the forum. Thanks

    Not an error.

    Probably just die deterioration.

    Worth 2 or 3 cents.

As mentioned above, sign of worn die.

100% normal for cents of this era. The L was extremely close to the rim on all of them, and as dies wear the lettering moves out more. The E is also always a little low looking.

  • Thanks, everyone for the feedback, for a moment I thought I finally found something special. Well, back to the hunt!
