Anyone here ever completed such a set? Would make an interesting looking folder if one could be produced like the regular type set Dansco folders.

Depends on what you mean by a "type set". I know some collectors who want one of each type of error, sometimes grouped by striking, planchet, and die errors. The debate about what would constitute a complete set would be endless, and an album would be difficult because so many striking errors have unique shapes.
What I have is a "conventional" US type set as defined by my 7070 album, where each coin has a clipped planchet error. You could build a similar set with any type of error, though again you would have the same issues designing an album for some versions. At one time I had a date set of off center clad dimes for which I used a Coinmaster album with individual pockets for each coin rather than a hole punched in cardboard, so it's not impossible.
Edited to add a page from the dime album:

Yes, a list of error types would encompass a long list. Just to begin with:Thin/thick planchet,overdates,diecracks,laminations,o/c. Still, such an assemblage may catch the attention of some passerbys at a show/shop. Maybe even creating a new error coin collector joining the ranks.
