1874 cc Trade Dollar counterfeit or altered?

This one is up for auction at eBay. The top bid is now over $500 with 3 days remaining. The coin is harshly cleaned, and there are a number of bumps/bubbles and some pitting. The denticles above America on reverse look suspect. The coin has been altered on both the obverse and reverse and noted with blue circle. The date position and CC are close to a known die pair, but photos are not good enough to dial in the CC on reverse.

Whizzed and tooled. You didn't circle the tooling on the eagles wing.

Maybe a repaired hole? Same location on both sides was re-engraved. Top of the left wing and the leg drapery have been redone.

I believe you are correct as both sides match for a hole repair. A strange location for a hole. It appears to be a genuine example with a hole repair.

A chopmark repair would would be more likely than a hole repair given the location of the repair.

A chopmark would need to be filled with silver, since a punch would dish that area to some degree. Food for thought.
