My initial thoughts are that is is one exceptionally nice looking example with a gorgeous PL, cameo and subtle toning!
Gorgeous!

Very attractive, the rev should have keep it from a PL designation if it looks like the photo in hand due to the haze. Clean cheek but not a full puffy cheek, I would grade it MS65, my guess is PCGS called it MS66 perhaps a + depending on when graded.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Going to guess MS65+ and that it just missed making PL due to the reverse.
PL obverse, pretty clean cheek but don't like the carbon spot/black mark around the 2nd 8 in date. Those are as bad as a major hit to coin. 63PL
64PL
Not a bad piece. My guess is 64 PL. The luster must be pretty flashy in hand.

I think it's a 65 and I agree that it was kept from PL because of the reverse. Pretty cameo though.

...bump... before the grade reveal.

I'll go with 64 PL...a couple hits on the cheek. Of course the disclaimer of 'it is hard to grade from a photo' always applies! Nice coin.

Hopefully this is not the case, but something makes me think Unc Details (either cleaned or altered surfaces)
64pl because of the carbon spot.
I'll go 64 pl. It's borderline pl to me based on the photo. I would hate that coin as a 65 or better.
64+

Here's another addition to the Box of 20. Again, I've been looking for a DMPL Morgan Dollar for some time... but in Gem BU, they really start getting "spendy". So, my quest was for an already slabbed MS64DMPL with as clean a cheek as I could find. The dark spot on the date held me back for a while, but after looking at scores of DMPL64's this one had as clean a cheek as I'd been able to find... and I think the spot likely prevented a 65 grade...
