Just saw this on ebay. I'm not affiliated with the seller, I just wanted to post it for discussion and see if it's a known specimen to the experts @rhedden @Crepidodera
Personally, I think it doesn't look that bad as far as the cleaning goes but it has a pretty significant rim hit on the reverse that ruins it in my opinion. Pics from NGC cert lookup.

Ron,
I haven't seen that specimen before. That's a significant rim gouge, and it has VF details, not XF.
Still, such a rare coin. If you could get it cheap, not a bad placeholder.

He's the expert but I was also thinking VF details. The hit at rim on reverse a bit of a liability but not overly IMHO.
Well, just Love coins, period.
I might be able to tolerate the cleaning, depending on how severe it is in person, but that rim ding looks very distracting in the lower photo. The obverse also looks tooled/smoothed on the shield.
I agree, it's really VF details.
@rhedden This one popped up on GC. Not sure if it's in your census.
I see a nasty scratch along the shield too. Way overgraded.

That would make for an alright album coin. I guess having it slabbed fulfills the idea of "authentication services."

Wasn't in my census, but it is now!
Detectorist need to be more careful when they dig these little beauties up! Shovel created the scratch and an immediate in the field cleaning did the job.
Just a thought.
