Beautiful cards. I have the 1960 set completed. I need 24 in PSA 8 to have the set in all 8s or better. a doctor gave me a poor prognosis in 2016 and I kind of stopped collecting. Perhaps this thread will give me a push towards completing this set in 8 or better before the doc tells my family "I told you so."

Thanks for starting this thread Don. I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel for completing this one. I'm most concerned about the Simmons. I have a really nicely centered raw card that I'm hoping will 8. It all comes down to the background. This one is pretty nice but not perfect...though few Simmons cards have flawless print. At a minimum, it should give me a significant PSA 7 upgrade to the 75-25 centered 7 I currently have in the set.

I pulled the scan from the auction page since my scanner is buried at the moment.

John, yes the 60T Simmons card is absolutely one of the most difficult cards in the 1960's. The black background in the photo always seems to present a ton of problems. I see on your card that the black has bled into the white border (which is very common) and also the black is splashed all over the pink side photo. I would be shocked if this card got a clean 7.

Some interesting tidbits I copied from Wiki about Joe De Maestri........
In December 1959, Demaestri was traded to the New York Yankees in the seven-player deal that famously brought Roger Maris to the Bronx Bombers. When the Yankees won the 1960 American League pennant, he appeared in his first and only World Series, getting into four games and collecting one hit, a single off Joe Gibbon of the Pittsburgh Pirates in the opening contest, in two at bats.

In the eighth inning of Game 7, DeMaestri took over for regular Yankee shortstop Tony Kubek when Kubek was struck in the throat by a bad-hop ground ball hit by Bill Virdon; the play sparked a five-run Pittsburgh rally. However, DeMaestri was off the field when, one inning later, Bill Mazeroski hit his famous walk-off homer against pitcher Ralph Terry. Dale Long had pinch hit for DeMaestri in the top of the ninth, and Clete Boyer had moved from third base to shortstop to take his place on defense

Some real Beauties, Don. Were the holders scratched or did you just want them in the newer style holder? Was it a review as well or strictly reholder?
