Hi All,
Does anyone know if any of the major grading companies authenticates vintage printing plates? I know a guy locally that who has three printing plates from a 60's non-sport issue, but have no idea if any of the companies authenticates these. Value is another question mark, but just curious on authentication.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Aren't all the slabbed printing plates actually released by the MFG's in packs (or via vouchers). Not sure if they will grade one found on the street!
I think 'Rufess' is the hottest man I have ever seen. If the pic is of the actual poster is actually 'Rufess'. I confess my love for that manness. There is no chance a person would post like that unless wanting my, and others, love.
Whom is this god's gift to man named RufEss that you speak of? Are you checking him out on OnlyFans?
Plates are often kept by the printer. Saving the aluminium plates after used, will pile up and sometimes could be very profitable when scraped. Kinda like sock money.
Me ? 45 years on press from Flier to Upper Deck . Taking plates for any reason, would be reasons for termination and looked upon as theft. The employe is made aware of this when hired.
So, with that being said, what ya got ?
1963 Topps Astronauts. He has two front plates and one back of the same card. This is out of my wheelhouse, so I’m exploring whether or not they can be authenticated because, in doing research, there is nothing out there to compare to other than some random 1962 Topps baseball plates that have surfaced at various times.
First ask , what was the press's manufactured name, what size and how many units were on it.
He should know. If not ? "There is something out there to compare the plates against". Trust me !
Then get back to me.
I don’t know what you mean by how many units were on it. I’ve seen the plates and they definitely are the same size and look just like the card. Yellow and black plate for front and blue plate for back because there is the 3-D aspect to the back of the card. They look like printing plates, but again, I don’t know how to better verify, which is why I thought to see if anyone knew if any of the grading companies authenticated these.
4 color, 4 units + varnish unit (plate required also)
What does the insert pattern on the top of each plate look like ? (there should be a punch or cut out pattern)
Is there a crease on the top of the plate (gripper) ? Are there any other aspects you see.
Next step is kinda tricky.
I thought only chicks do OnlyFans?
