Looking for more information: PCGS 35th Anniversary Metal in Silver

braddickbraddick Posts: 24,178 ✭✭✭✭✭

I know there was a slew of these commemorative metals minted in copper for PCGS. I wasn't aware of a silver version until today.
When I check the POP reports I see three graded MS69 yet none in MS70:

I also don't see any values or past sales of these as I am attempting to retrieve information on their scarcity.

Here is the only photo I see of one in MS70 (perhaps newly graded and not yet in the POPS):

Other photos related:

If anyone has additional information regarding these- such as total mintage and who struck these metals and even past sales I'd be indebted.
Thanks!

Here is a slightly better screenshot of the population of these as the one above is too small to read.

It looks like it isn't actually a medal, but is instead a commemorative coin from one of those tiny nations that contracts out private mints to make commemorative coins in their name. Is it from Niue?

The copper ones were a quarterly special for a collectors club submission a couple years back.

I think the silver ones were for dealers that had been for so many years.

Some of the Ag coins were released to the public via APMEX.

At the time of this post, the following Ag coins are still available:
~ 85 raw BU coins. Link
    ~ and, 1 PR-70 coin. Link

APMEX is currently 'out of stock' on the MS-70 version. Link

So the silver ones graded were done by APMEX or were other dealers involved?
I wish the POP report was updated as no MS70s are shown yet obviously they are out there.

As I understand it, these were an APMEX exclusive release (i.e., APMEXclusive). So, they were initially only available via APMEX. However, once they hit the market, anyone could submit for grading (e.g., the raw BU coins; APMEX #235991).

There were also the silver medals commemorating PCGS’s 30th Anniversary from 2016. 500 have David Hall’s signature.

Thanks to a PM from MetroD here is the real POP Report for the MS70 silver version:

I am surprised the POP is as high as it is for the MS70 as I honestly can't locate any of these available for sale (other than APMEX and it looks like they're sold out).
