I had to smile when I saw this coin as it immediately reminded me of a coin show I went to in 1996 in NJ (the old Secaucus Coin Expo) and one of the major type dealers had scores of white, untoned Seated proof coinage in old (it wasn't old then) PCGS holders. They looked like glittering jewels!

I am a sucker for rattlers . Seeing some that are not overgraded and in an ogh rattler is a hoot. They are obviously getting rarer and rarer, and it is so nice to see it not getting cracked out. A few of diamonds in the rough out there and it looks like you found one.

I had an 1890 proof seated dime that I had conserved that looked silver white much like yours except much lower grade.

@asheland, super, beautiful bright white proof Terry. Great pickup! But I guess you know you’re in the right place to find those!

Coin with little toning in a 1980s holder... no need to wonder if it was dipped last week before grading. Coin just has light toning and it's stable. Nice. Looks like it could possibly get a CAM designation as well.

Indeed those were exactly my thoughts, ever so slight toning on the edges, unquestionably original, not dipped, no haze, no spots, everything going for it. And indeed it stays in the rattler as long as I own it! B)

The rattler is even nearly mint condition itself. 👍

And yes, my opinion about 65-70% cameo, almost, but not quite.

Good enough for my liking though. >:)

That is one fantastic piece. The antique holder compliments the antique type.
