1921-D massive "D" Morgan variety? I think not...

Latest seen on the authenticity challenged front is this 1921-D Morgan:

If you think the reverse looks familiar, it looks surprising like the common counterfeit "CC" reverse:

A real challenge to try to keep up...

    Just like collecting real coins from different dies and die states, this requires looking at a lot of coins and remembering what you see, or using a frequently updated reference.

    Interesting that the counterfeiter would use the fake CC reverse as the 1921 Morgan has the flat top arrow feather that was used in 1921, 1878 and some in 1879.
