1965 Dime with FB... should this be graded??

AUandAGAUandAG Posts: 24,801 ✭✭✭✭✭

PCGS says that less than 100 examples, with FB, have been graded even with a billion minted.
Toning on both sides throws me off.
What grade would you give it and do you think it should be in plastic?
thanks all,
bob :)

It doesn’t look FB to me. But even if it is, the coin would probably need to grade higher than 66 to merit the cost of grading. I don’t think it would make it.

Maybe there is more than I am seeing? Looks like pocket change to me, but I'm not a modern guy either.

I doubt grading it is a good idea but these are tougher with FB than the guides suggest.

It's definitely one to set aside.

Originally it was pocket change out of a till..... never was certain it was UNC but all the dimes in that drawer were sure bright and shiny! Shame it toned over the decades in my envelope.
Just one of those that catches the eye at the time and got tucked away into a dark corner of the safe.... forgot I even had it, till today.

It looks like there is environmental damage at 1:00 on the reverse near the rim. Not worth grading

It's really a nice coin. From the picture it's hard to tell it's Unc but for this date a little wear wouldn't matter anyway. It's not the kind of coin I'd have set aside because of the die fatigue, but I should have.

I think you would need to get it in a 66FB holder for it to be, "worth grading".
