Another mystery to shed some light on

I have this roosevelt dime that was gifted to me and am not sure what to make of it...what could cause this to happen? any ideas?

This wear pattern can happen if it is tumbled in a clothes dryer.

I would say it is a dryer coin going by the reduced rims.
No value except as a conversation piece.
