Hello everyone. I am thinking of making a trade to help a fellow collector out and trading my 4 ounce Homestake bar for his.
I would like your thoughts on these two bars and what everyone’s thoughts are on if they are both legit or if either of them has any red flags. Thanks for looking and weighing in if you so choose to do so.

The stamp on the top bar has the diagnostics that indicate it is authentic and the fonts look good, so I think its real.
The resolution of the second bar is insufficient to make a determination.

So your thinking about trading your #134 bar for his #144 bar?
What would be the benefit for you??
The #144 bar is listed on AllEnghard along with a #133 bar.
If you trade your bar to the other guy and they have the #133 bar that would give them a consecutively numbered pair.
( possibly worth more on resale)
The #134 bar is a better strike... better looking bar as far as I can tell.
If that's your #134 bar I would add it to the AllEnghard site and keep it.
We are discussing the trade for 4 ounce bars plus either a cash difference or other scenarios.
How do you add a bar to the all englehard website. I thought those were just examples of serial numbers they were aware of.
You send AllEnghard a picture.
They either use your picture or add the number to the known examples.
Either way, it helps with resale when you can point the buyer to the site for authentication.
I also think they submit your bars to their gallery.
Homestake is a legendary company. Stock was great in the 1930's after FDR took us off the gold standard.
Any gold or silver bars from HSM should trade at a nice premium, IMO.
lol....I bought this bar at a coin shop in FL this past January.
That's an amazing score if it's real
Successful transactions with: AnonMan, Commoncents05, JJM, PerryHall, Danielp, greenwr, Along, Herb_T, Downtown1974, masscrew, coinnerd, liefgold, JWP, Relaxn, Pnies20, Weiss, Type2, dm679864, pointfivezero, and more!
All the experts, including AE agreed it's real.
That's a really nice example of the 4 oz class bar. Congrats on the score!!
