New Problem with E-Bay Payment Need Help Please

Morning,

Somehow I know this is going to turn into a hassle. 3 weeks ago I purchased a couple Comics from an E-Bay Seller, couple hundred bucks, $235 actually. Well the Books were major league SNAD. So I initiated my first return in years, Seller wasn't happy, but accepted returns, so not my problem.

So the comics were returned on Tues and he refunded me yesterday for both transactions...All good, right...No!

So here's the problem, it seems I get notified that one of my CC's or Debit cards has an unauthorized purchase at least every two months or so, my Bank asks, did you buy this, I say no, they remove it and let me know they are sending me a new card. Pain but oh well.

Well the card that I used to purchase these Books was compromised and replaced between the purchase and the refund, so E-Bay says they refunded me the money back to a card number that doesn't exist!

So my main question is I am sure somebody has had this happen here, is this E-Bay or a Bank Issue? Where to start, as I am going to have to deal with this today.

Thanks for any help!

YeeHaw!

Neil

I would think that you need to contact your bank or whoever you got the credit card from. eBay did their job and issued the refund. It's not their fault that the card was compromised and then cancelled.

And that was where I started with B of A, which was the first part of the 2 hours of my life I'll never get back! The Bank said they could see NO Transaction or Pending and because of that there was nothing they could do...Period! They told me to contact E-Bay.....Oh No!

So and 1 1/2 hours later after explaining my whole story to Ebay, and being on hold for on and on, the rep comes on and says Mr. Duty do not worry your refund will be credited back to your card ending in 3994, If I could have reached through the phone I would have.......... So anyway I had to stop myself from screaming "That Card Was Canceled, doesn't exist, Nada, Gone, Poof." So then he transfers me to a Escalation Specialist, but tells him nothing, so I had to start all over again! OMG

So finally they tell me that when the transaction is rejected by my Bank in 3-5 business days the refund will be applied to my Sellers Account. Wow was that really that hard?

Gotta Love E-bay, although as E-bay said if I had gone to my account settings right after my Debit was cancelled (My Bad, didn't even cross my mind) cause I just change to one of my other cards I had on file. Even if I had done this it would further gum up the works!

    Thanks

Usually any refunds to "cancelled" card numbers will show up on the new card number as they should be linked per se. It's not like this doesn't happen all the time. Also, refunds usually take longer to hit the bank they are being sent back to, so you probably just called too early. Give it till Monday

I would give it a few days. I would think the return would kick back to ebay after it is unable to be applied to a card that no longer exists.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

    Morning,

Interesting end to the Saga I didn't even think about, both Refunds just hit the Checking account tied to the Defunct Debit Card. Not my Sellers Account as E-Bay told me would happen!

    So All Good!
