Is Ebay Search Broken Or Is It Just Me?
![ProofCollection](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/userpics/QIP6JI4CU911/n5SBQTUQGMRJE.jpg)
Within the last few days, it seems like they changed Ebay search including the daily search results they email. I'm now getting far more results that do not meet my search criteria. Surely it's not just me?
For instance, a search for "2022 PCGS Quarter Set 70 silver"
The first results is titled: "2022 S 25C Clad Womens Quarter Set PCGS PR70DCAM First Strike"
The term "silver" is not in the title nor in the listing.
This will make shopping on ebay way more work than it already is. Why bother having a search if it's going to return things that you're not searching for?

Noticed the same thing. I'm wondering if Ebay thought it would be beneficial for their site by offering more "similar" items to the search bar. So far it has just annoyed me.
Yes eBay search give you lots of garbage. I don’t like it at all.
Yes. eBay search used to be excellent, now it is awful.
For example, "1880-O Morgan PCGS MS65" shows coins that are other mints, not PCGS, and not MS65. You either have to use quotation marks on each search term or use the check boxes on the side, which makes finding relevant items or completed sales much more time consuming.
If you use the minus - sign in your search it will eliminate the things you don't want to see.![;) ;)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Example: Your search 2022 PCGS Quarter Set 70 silver -clad
If you want to find a 1899 P Morgan there are many more O or S than the P , search like this.
1899 Morgan -O -S this will only show the P mint marks
Do not use a space between the minus sign and what you are trying to eliminate.
I just tried it, and it seems to be trying to get close. I think it is just that before they were showing EXACT matches and then below similar keywords. But now it looks like it is mushing it all together and letting us figure it out.
Yep, I think that's it. Some high paid executive probably thought that they could boost sales by showing "close" matches. I love it when you miss out on a very rare coin that only comes up every few years and they suggest that there's another one on the site that I might be interested in. LoL...
Yes but you shouldn't have to do that. If it doesn't have SILVER in the title or description it is not a positive match.

Their motto is improve it until it's broken.
Yes, the same here
Why can't they just show results of what I plugged in. I just want those coins, not every coin that doesn't fit what I asked for
Getting fed up..........again

If you just click the "exact word" box in the advanced search, it excludes anything but your exact search terms.
I think the programmers switched the search from all the words in title to most the words in title
Just deleted all my searches, I started the morning with 32 emails for coins on ebay and NOT ONE of them was for the coin I was requesting.
Doesn't ebay have a spy on the boards, I hope they will read all these complaints and do something about it.
I just received an email from them with congrats for being a member for 21 years, Unless they fix this I will be forced to slow down with them

Smart move!
While @jmlanzaf showed us the new best way to make a search, when I have time I'll be deleting all of my current searches, but then make new ones with those "quotes". What a WASTE of time!!!!!!

The worst is the page to maintain your save searches. No bulk action! Have to click on each drop down to see which ones are active! Whoever designed the page clearly doesn't use it! They used to show this and have bulk actions but took it away.
I wonder if eBay is now going to claim that they have "AI" powered search.
