Best Idea for a Card Topps has Had in a While

This year, in an agreement with Topps, every player upon their MLB Debut wore a special sleeve patch. This sleeve patch was to be used by Topps for a special 1/1 Debut Card. 2023 Topps Chrome Update has the first of these cards.

In a hobby where game-used has been replaced with a bunch of replica jerseys that have no connection to the player - I applaud the actual game-used patch from a significant game from the player’s career.

Good job Topps!

I agree. That is a fantastic concept. Perhaps Fanatics will not be all bad after all.

Maybe just me but $275.00 for a 12-card "Breakers Delight" Box seems a bit steep!

Topps was purchased. Unless the buyers don't have rights to that name in perpetuity or there were issues with the brand that might hurt future business, why would they even want to change it?

If a local McDonalds sells to another owner, it's probably going to stay a McDonalds.

I collect Steve Garvey, Dodgers and signed cards. Collector since 1978.

correct. Topps was purchased by Fanatics maybe a year or so ago. Fanatics swooped in and bought the MLB rights to produce cards. It really did not give Topps any choice but to sell as they would have been unable to produce licensed cards anymore.

just like when Stelantis bought Chrysler or when Ruger bought Marlin rifles.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
