I only know that it is not painted and appears to be copper.
Just thought it was strange to come from a cent roll.
Just add it to the collection.
Hand-rolled. Looks like a cent. You made 9 cents on the deal. There are worse outcomes.
It's not really collectible. You could plate a whole bag of dimes with a voltage source and a couple dollars with of copper sulfate, if you wanted.
It looks like a miss-annealed planchet
This type of “copper” is from the planchet being over–annealed
This is been a fairly common occurrence on nickels and dimes in the past 20+ years or so –
this is the first one I’ve seen dated in the last few years.
If it is what I believe it to be, it would have a nice premium - would probably be worth
$35-$45 or thereabouts

Looks like your up 9 cents.
Looks like paint to me.

Cheap phone. It is definitely platted. Not sure it could ever be determined to be from the mint.
The question is... is it copper plated zinc? How much does it weigh?
I do not have a way to weigh it.
Metal looks off but I assumed the process would do this
If it's plated, it's definitely NOT from the Mint. They don't plate coins.
Someone was playing around with it.
Are you sure it's not a Morgan dollar?
I only know that it is not painted and appears to be copper.

Looks like a piss poor plate job, to bad 👎
Ok
Thanks again
I will see if I can get to a show sometime and see if anyone can tell me more
