That's a serious haul. I hope the criminals get the book thrown at them.

It sounds like he left the cases on his table unattended while he went to get his car. It reads that way anyway.
Possibly a 'would you watch my stuff while I get my car' scenario that went wrong?

  • I seriously feel for the dealer as the chances are his insurance will not pay out as he left the items unattended. I have dealt in antique jewellery for 40+ years and certainly no policy I have ever had, would pay out in these circumstances. I left them with another stall holder wont cut it.

I would have carried them to the car instead of leaving them sitting there.

If it's high value you may want to use a handcuff to secure it with high risk situations.

Didn't even know there was a coin show in Meadville. Right down the street from me. Hope the victim is able to recover their coins. RGDS!

Sounds like the thieves knew what to take and had it planned out.

    Yikes. That’s some serious cheddar!

I’ll never understand how some people lack a conscience.

Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.

I’ve read that the smart thing to do is to take your stuff, even on a cart, and be escorted by the security staff to your car. Then do some “funny” driving to make sure you’re not being followed!

The dealer should have known better.

It happens way too often, despite that dealers know how to protect themselves better. The ones that get lax in their security make themselves the target of choice for these thieves. And we will never get 100% of dealers to be 100% careful 100% of the time. Don't be the weakest link in the chain.
