What is one thing that you learned about yourself since you joined this forum?

When I post a GTG I cannot (no matter how many things I try) take a decent picture of the coin. Ugh

If I could, I would communicate entirely in memes.
I learned not to argue senselessly on the interwebs.
I can't have nice things.
How pathetic my collection is compared to you guys. Thank you all very much for that!! π«
Disclaimer: I'm not a dealer, trader, grader, investor or professional numismatist. I'm just a hobbyist. (To protect me but mostly you! π€£ )
Iβm a bigger dumbass than I imagined. I cannot photograph macro as well as I thought; the song Oh Well tells it.
That I have a lot more to learn
I've learned there's not a big difference between a cherry picker and a tire kicker.
That I have little patience for online coyness, bashing, or rudeness yet I feel like I am guilty of this at times which reminds be to strive to be better.
I LOVE to use the Ignore feature!π€£π
I learned ( and still am learning) just how much I didnβt know!
1.) That I don't have as much hobby money as I wish I had.
2.) That taking good coin pics is much tougher than snapshots.
I learned that Walmart parking lot coins are far more prolific than I ever imagined.![:o :o](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/open_mouth.png)

I learned that I don't have nearly enough patience with people who don't know things that I used to not know.
I learned that compared to the members here that I am not an old fart.

I have learned that while I have learned a lot, I still have a lot to learn.
I have also learned that by and large the people on this forum are a great group of folks always willing to help those that sincerely seek it. To that point there are some people on this forum that I would consider friends even though I have never actually met them.

By choice, I do not contribute; I stay in the background, just reading and learning.
Oddly enough, I've chosen this thread to respond to. I guess it simply struck a cord with me.
Without a doubt, the number one lesson I have learned is this: apparently, my skin is thicker than that of approximately 99% of the population.
Iβve learned that I buy coins, but many on here buy slabs and stickers. Or they buy slabs to get stickers on, or they buy old slabs and then get new slabs for old coins.

I learned that I used and relied upon the search function of these forums far more than I would have otherwise thought had they not stopped working. Very frustrating.

I learned this forum is better than the NGC one β
A better tolerance for posters where the elevator does not go to the top.
A more clear understanding of quote trolls who are pushing their agenda. I wonder if some of them post on company time from work lol considering their boorish high radiation. Pb on ct. Nothing personal but One of them believe he has been kicked 2x so hopefully the 3rd time wb the charm?
The other thing is how big the sticker game is here. That players spend inordinate amounts of money getting the coin in the holder they want or higher grade then sending it to the sticker guy. In one instance it got details. Then they go around and around about CAC. Do it over there.
Iβve learned that Iβm poor and can only afford to look at everyone elseβs coins π
I've found that as soon as I post in a thread the thread goes completely quite.
I've learned you can make real life friends that you may not ever meet in real life.![B) B)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/sunglasses.png)

That Iβm not a die hard coin addict. I love the history, artwork, and owning coins but Iβm just not as interested in the minutiae. When looking at references I like the history of how the coins were produced and the context of the times more than the die varieties and such that make up the bulk of the work.
Never saw any of your words sink a thread but I know of a few other members who continue to do so.π
Before I get attacked...yes one of them WAS me but not since I got out of jail!!!ππ€£
It's ok to poke the bear....just don't cross the line which is hard to do because it is always moving!π€£π
Jump on in! The water temperature is awesome but be careful it can get hot enough to boil over at times!
I believe you are the smartest and wealthiest member on here!
May sound stupid, but I found out I was not an island. I collected for almost 50 years and could count the number of coin conversations I had on one hand. When my beloved Cinnamon died in 2017 I found these coin boards to distract me. James
I dont think that disqualifies you from being a "die hard coin addict". My interests are similar to yours in the sense that i'm not really interested in die varieties and the minutiae of coin manufacture, but i still appreciate the history and the circumstances in which they were made. With that said I attend most of the big shows and spend A LOT of time reading and searching through auction records, so i'd still consider myself a die hard in some respects. Its a versatile hobby that can be approached in different ways, and theres no "right" way.

I have a lot to learn.
I learned not to discount anyoneβs opinion on here, regardless of whether they are a newbie or a seasoned veteran. Everyone here has something to contribute and, if you keep that in an open mind, you can learn a lot.
