Since PCGS made it so the Set Additions were Instant "Red Friday" has Disappeared for the Mercury Folks. Change They say is Good. Hmmm....Not in this Case. The weekly exchange of Banter and Constructive talk about the Sets has Disappeared around here. I Say change Back to the Old system so the Anticipation of which Member will Add which Date Shows on Friday again.

Guess we were thinking the same thing, Ken. See my thread re: Al's additions.

Yeah, Ken. Same here. I thought you were sick or on vacation. To paraphrase an old commercial (Anita Bryant, I think): " A day without a Merc thread is like a day without sunshine."image

          I have an addition myself, a 20-S in 64, but it can't hold a candle to Al's '27-S. What a great-looking coin!

The rate of additions seems to be slowing a bit. Maybe folks are just on vacation. I'll buy (up to a point) if I can find the coins, but they're getting tougher.

              Ken,

Yes, the '20-S is from Royalty. I was hesitant to bid because in their scan, there appeared to be a flat spot on the fasces at the center crossband. I thought about it and decided it was probably a smudge on the holder, or a problem with the scan. It turned out to be a mark on the holder, and the bands are three-quarters full, so I'm happy with the coin. It's just difficult to get a good picture with the dark toning by the date. I'll try to get a better pic this weekend.
